ET Foundation Extends Deadline for ET '12 Abstracts
Wauconda, Illinois (February 2, 2011) - The Extrusion Technology for Aluminum Profiles Foundation (ET Foundation) has extended the deadline for the receipt of abstracts for the Tenth International Aluminum Extrusion Technology Seminar—ET ’12. The extended deadline to submit abstracts is now Monday, March 14, 2011. The ET Foundation is accepting abstract submissions exclusively via a collection website specially designed for the purpose and accessible at www.ET12.org. ET '12 is expected to attract more than 1,200 professionals from within the aluminum extrusion community and is scheduled for May 15 through 18, 2012 at the Fontainebleu Miami Beach in Miami, Florida, USA.
From practical to theoretical and operational to technical, the ET Foundation is seeking contributions from the international aluminum extrusion industry reflecting a range of issues including, but not limited to:
- Best Practices
- New Techniques
- Product and Market Developments
- Emerging Technologies & Applications
- Alloys & Manufacturing Research
- Sustainability and other Environmental Aspects.
Based on the content received, presentations at ET ’12 will be categorized in subject groups likely to include Billet Process & Equipment, Extrusion Equipment, Extrusion/Die Practical, Extrusion/Die Theoretical, Management Issues, Value-Added Processes, Sustainability & Recycling, and Extrusion Applications & Design. Selected authors will be invited to submit technical papers based on abstracts reviewed by the ET Seminar Committee, which is comprised of aluminum extrusion industry professionals and academics involved in extrusion and related research. Final manuscripts will be accepted based on criteria such as relevance, usefulness, uniqueness, accuracy, focus, quality, and noncommercial tone and content. While original research is the hallmark of the ET Seminar, the Committee also seeks review papers that analyze and summarize previously published literature.
Authors interested in submitting an abstract for consideration should follow the instructions on the “Authors” page of the ET ’12 website. The extended deadline for receipt of abstracts is March 14, 2011. Authors whose abstracts have been selected will be notified on or about April 17, 2011 and will be invited to submit a technical paper based on the approved abstract. Final manuscripts will be due in September 2011.
