Thermally Efficient Products through Computer Simulation Software

Patrick Muessig -- Azon USA Inc., USA

Architecture, building and construction markets harbor myths about aluminum’s energy-efficiency capabilities. Computer software dispels misconceptions, measuring thermal efficiency from a single extrusion to an entire window assembly. Assessing a whole building’s performance, the software’s finite element platform analyzes each material’s emissivity and thermal conductivity within a unit, generating the assembly’s overall efficiency. Infrared analysis and color flux magnitudes reveal energy efficiency improvement opportunities.
