Analysis of Mechanical Properties of 2xxx-T3 and -T8 Aluminum Extruded Rods by means of Neural Networks

Mechanical property analysis procedures for AA2011 bars in -T3 and -T8 tempers are described. Artificial Neural Network (ANN) model relates mechanical properties to bar dimensions and cold drawing reductions for both tempers. Post-ANN training/testing analysis shows how bars’ mechanical properties depend on particular parameters. Optimal value of cold drawing reduction is determined for achieving best mechanical properties. Investigation results for industrial practice are presented.
