Grain Sizes Prediction in AA6082 Profiles Extrusion

Finite Element Method (FEM) codes can foresee an extruded profile’s microstructure evolution if proper parameters and coefficients are set. Recrystallization evolution in aluminum alloys is investigated. Grain distribution and static recrystallization prediction are examined. A round profile’s extrusion is described, and grain size distribution on profile and billet rest is analyzed. Developed equations are applied to rod extrusion; simulated grain size distribution is compared with experiments.
